AECT

I have outlined how my work in the program met the standards of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT). Included below are links to my formal writings, presentations, and other works. Many items in my e-portfolio are indicative of having met multiple AECT standards.


 

Standard 1 – Content Knowledge

Candidates demonstrate the knowledge necessary to create, use, assess, and manage theoretical and practical applications of educational technologies and processes.

1.1: Creating
Candidates demonstrate the ability to create instructional materials and learning environments using a variety of systems approaches.

Context: The expected outcome was to share my knowledge with my peers and instructor. The work was compelling and includes all aspects required in the assignment and to create a discussion section.

Context : The expected outcome of this rubric was to develop experience in creating and designing a rubric. The work was compelling and included information that not only reflects a thorough and completed understanding of the concepts, but provided insight and analysis that exceeds what the assignment required.


1.2: Using

Candidates demonstrate the ability to select and use technological resources and processes to support student learning and to enhance their pedagogy.

Context :   The expected outcome was to instruct my cohorts. Focuses of this presentation included academic citation, share my knowledge with my peers and instructor and to create a discussion section.

Context : I did my best serve my students by helping them achieve their highest level of ability in my own class, but also to prepare them for their future classroom environment. I strove to engage my students. I generally do this by making my class as interactive as possible. I began with some sort of hands-on class activities, such as debugging a problem individually, creating project together.The expectation was to assess the teaching of a coding technique to undergraduate freshmen students and  to gain an opportunity to increase my teaching experience.

Candidates demonstrate the ability to effectively manage people, processes, physical infrastructures, and financial resources to achieve predetermined goals.

1.5: Ethics

Candidates demonstrate the contemporary professional ethics of the field as defined and developed by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology.

Standard 2 – Content Pedagogy

Candidates develop as reflective practitioners able to demonstrate effective implementation of educational technologies and processes based on contemporary content and pedagogy.

2.1: Creating
