Artifact : iMovie

Description: During the summer semester of 2013, I created a YouTube video with the iMovie app as an assignment by instructor Dr. Misook Heo for one of the required courses, GDIT 703: Foundations of Instructional Technology.

Goal: The goal of this iPad-based project was to learn how to record video, take a picture, add videos and pictures, and edit them on iMovie to present in the classroom.

Expectation: The expected outcome was to download the iMovie app on iPad and to use an iMovie to create a video for introducing myself and describing what I am planning to do after getting a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology and Leadership.

Reflection: Although, I had used and created computer-based Movie Maker prior to this project. I found that this activity increased my skill level. It provided the chance for me to create a video ipad-based app which is user-friendly and intuitive. I demonstrated a YouTube video with the iMovie app introducing myself and describing content what I am planning to do after getting a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology and Leadership. This ipad-based tool iMovie project increased my digital Storytelling skills and my knowledge about creating a digital movie about myself. I will provide my prospective students to foster digital storytelling with iMovie to share various contents with their classmates. Also, I will not only teach new educational technologies, but also for production such as collecting images, digitizing video and editing to create flexible environments.
