Description:  During the summer semester of 2014, I applied for admission to LearnLab Summer School at Carnegie Mellon University, with guidance from Dr. Joseph Kush. After conducting research, I presented a poster “Is There a Benefit of Self-Explanation Prompts for Learning a Programming Language? In-Vivo Study,” The work was done under the mentorship and guidance from Dr. Timothy Nokes-Malach, Dr. Dan Belenky, and Liz Richey and was conducted at Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.

Goal: The goal of this research and poster was to gain opportunities to engage in research that is personally relevant, write a proposal, and present a poster.

Expectation: The expected outcome was to conduct literature reviews, submit a proposal, and present a poster at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute.

Reflection: Although, I haven’t presented poster prior to this research and poster. I found that this summer developed my ability to present my work and discovered about intelligence tutoring at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute. It provided the chance for me to collaborate with my peers and mentors to pitch ideas about programming language computer-based tutoring to use self-explanation model.Additionally, I will support support and guide my prospective students to research and submit posters about their own interested topic.
