Rubric

Artifact : Rubric

Rubric-for-Hopscotch         Standards AECT : 1.1

Description: During the spring semester of 2014, I designed a hands-on activities rubric for pre-service freshmen students, with mentorship and guidance from Dr. David D. Carbonara for one of the elective courses GDIT 509: Independent Study.

Goal: The goal of this rubric was to evaluate students coursework at the end of a hands-on activity.

Expectation: The expected outcome of this rubric was to develop experience in creating and designing a rubric.

Reflection: Before teaching pre-service teacher, I did not use Rubric that I created. After creating and designing Rubric, I now knew what is the process of creating instructional material based on student’s knowledge. I designed during the spring semester. Dr. Carbonara and I met. I assigned three projects for the students to complete and graded the projects based on the rubric that Dr. Carbonara and I constructed. I will use this rubric to assess my students’ computational thinking skills by analyzing their Hopscotch projects. Also, I will help my students to reflect their knowledge and engage their critical thinking skills to analyze what they have done.
