Building Bibliography 2

Artifact : Building Bibliography

Bibliography 8 Courseware design        Standards AECT 5.1

Description:  During the Fall semester of 2013, I wrote a bibliography every week as an assignment conducted by instructor Dr. Misook Heo for one of the required courses, GDIT 705: Courseware Design.

Goal: The goal of this project was to understand the research design process; to learn how to analyze  conference papers and journal articles; and to gain opportunities to engage in research that is personally relevant.

Expectation: The expected outcome was to read one journal article and one conference paper, build a bibliography every week that related to the research interest, and review the bibliography of peers on a discussion board.

Reflection: Although, I had built bibliography prior to this assignment. I found that this activity increased my performance of research and skill level. It provided the chance for me to gather great resources from past and current theories to improve my writing skills. I was able to gain information about my dissertation and read other researchers’ articles and papers. Building Bibliography from conference papers and journal articles helped me clarify contribution of research, scholars and their approaches to a given topic. Building Bibliography provided me to learn organizing skills for research paper such as citations, references and researchers initials. Every week, it expanded my knowledge about analyzing papers and writing what I learnt for each resource. I will support and help my prospective students move from the research to the drafting phase of writing projects, especially, when managing a large number of sources throughout the semester.
