Reaction Paper                     Standards AECT : 5.3

Description:  During the fall semester of 2013, I wrote a reaction paper as an assignment conducted by instructor Dr. Nihat Polat for one of the elective courses, GESL 510: Theories and Practice of Second Language Learning.

Goal: The goal of this paper was to develop academic skills in reading and evaluation of SLA research from a critical approach.

Expectation: The expected outcome consisted of a brief introduction, a summary, and a critique of the research article.

Reflection: My thoughts about anxiety in second language acquisition were impacted by the Reaction Paper that I completed throughout Fall semester. After completing Research Paper, I feel that I am more knowledgeable about a wider and broader spectrum of Foreign Language Anxiety and Heritage Students now I can understand the connection between anxiety and students. I went through literature review of the topic, evaluated processes and resources. Knowing these teaching strategies are essential for me to teach my prospective students to be aware of heritage students to improve their performance.
